Month of the Military Child 2024 (MOMC)

April is Month of the Military Child! To celebrate MOMC, we have various events & specials throughout the month for you to enjoy! 

Events:

1 April - Hi-Fives for Our Military Kids at Moore Child Development Center (CDC) - center-wide wreath with all our hands of our children and parents

1 April - MOMC Kick Off Dance Party at McConnell Youth Center for School Age Care (SAC) - morning and afternoon activities - dancing, karaoke, and snack

1 April, 1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center for Middle School & Teen (MST) - open rec, open gym, art, and music

2 April - World Autism Awareness Day

2 April - Hats Off to You! at Moore CDC - wear your favorite military hat

3 April - Marble Painting at Moore CDC - use the different colors of the military to make purple

4 April - Blue Up for Child Abuse Awareness - wear blue

5 April - Purple Up for Military Kids at Moore CDC - wear purple

5 April, 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center - pool club and dodgeball

8 April, 9:30 a.m. - MOMC Parade starting at Moore CDC - CDC students and staff will parade from Moore CDC to Upton Hall and return to Moore CDC - wear Red, White, & Blue

9 April - Dandelion Collage at Moore CDC - center-wide dandelion collage

10 April - Put a cap on Child Abuse Awareness at Moore CDC - wear favorite crazy hat, FAPM to read to PS at 10 a.m.

10 April - Dance Party at Moore CDC 

11 April - Tie-Dye Day at Moore CDC - each child will need to bring in a white t-shirt prior to day

11 April - Stomp Out Child Abuse at Moore CDC - wear your favorite pair of boots

12 April - CDC Olympics at Moore CDC - for PS, picnic lunch after

12 April - Purple Up for Military Kids at Moore CDC - wear purple

12 April, 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center - pool club and dodgeball

15 April - Purple Up Day to Support Military Kids - wear purple

15 April, 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center - pickle ball

16 April - Silly Sock Day at Moore CDC 

17 April - Career Day at Moore CDC - dress up like what you want to be when you grown up. Parents to come and share what they do.

18 April - Sports Jersey Day at Moore CDC - wear your favorite sports jersey

19 April - Purple Up for Military Kids at Moore CDC - wear purple

19 April - SAC Pajama Day at McConnell Youth Center - wear pajamas all day

19 April, 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center - pool club, open gym, and dodgeball​​​​​​​

22 April - Earth Day at Moore CDC - plant a seed activity, dirt cups for snack

22 April - SAC Earth Day at McConnell Youth Center - outside activity at our garden

23 April - Superhero Day at Moore CDC - dress like a superhero

24 April - Make a Splash! at Moore CDC - wear your rain boots, raincoat, & rainbows.

25 April - Our Future is so Bright! at Moore CDC - wear sunglasses to school

26 April - Purple Up for Military Kids at Moore CDC - wear purple

26 April - CDC Bike Day at Moore CDC - ride bikes

26 April, 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. - MST Activities at McConnell Youth Center - pool club, open gym, and dodgeball​​​​​​​

29 April - Kindness Ties Us Together at Moore CDC - wear a bow or bowtie

30 April - Military Branch Day at Moore CDC - dress in your favorite Military Branch t-shirt

30 April - SAC Bike Day - Spring is Here at McConnell Youth Center - outside activity ride bikes

Weekly MST Activities include regular hours:

Monday - Thursday, 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Monday: Open Art

Tuesday: Fine Arts (Painting, Pottery, Pearler Beads)

Wednesday: Game Day (Fortnight, Minecraft, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Magic the Gathering)

Thursday: Triple Play Sports (Soccer, Basketball, Football)

Friday: Pool Table Time and Dodgeball
