Shop specialty store on the West Shore. The small group trip will explore three local locations. We start our shopping at Talking Breads. Experience the old-world breads — crafted from locally grown and milled flours. Talking Breads open concept bakery, located on the farm, allows you to see the entire bread making process, from field to loaf! You'll also find lots of fresh & local goodies at the store like grazing boards, meats, eggs, produce, fruits & dairy!
Our next stop is West Shore Farmers Market started in the late 1940's, Ray Garver, Sr. recognized the need for a farmers' market on the west shore of Harrisburg, PA. In 1953, a large addition was constructed on the State Street side of the Market. The Market went through a major transformation in 1999. In the wee hours of the morning on February 1, 1999, the Market was destroyed by fire. On June 16, 2000, the doors were opened for business in the new 60,000 square foot facility. The Market has two floors. The Specialty Shops, located on the upper level, offer a wide variety of fine gifts, jewelry, antiques, books and a salon. The farmers' market, located on the lower level, has 50 vendors who sell all kinds of foods from fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, meat, and prepared foods to gourmet coffees and soft pretzels.
Our final stop is Oxford Hall. Oxford Hall has been Central Pennsylvania’s sought-after destination for Celtic wares since the first location opened in New Oxford in 1984. Oxford Hall invites guests to enjoy authentic Irish, Celtic and British apparel, jewelry, food, home goods, and so much more! Oxford Hall also offers the largest selection of First Communion dresses, suits, accessories and gifts in Central Pennsylvania. Visitors can enjoy a cuppa and an authentic Celtic treat at the shop’s Tea Corner Café. Oxford Hall is conveniently located in beautiful downtown New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, in a historic Civil War building.
