Join us on Saturday, 10 May for an exciting adventure at the Smithsonian Zoo in Washington, D.C. Come discover the many wonders and learn about the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute’s efforts to save species, understand ecosystems, and train future conservationists.
Founded in 1889, the Zoo is home to more than 2,100 animals, including some of the planet’s most critically endangered species—representing nearly 400 different species. Choose your favorite animal and dive into their fascinating world! 🦁🐼🦒

Itinerary:
7:30 a.m. – Depart US Army Heritage & Education Center (USAHEC)parking lot
Rest stop en route
10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. – Arrive at Washington, D.C. Smithsonian Zoo (drop off location to be determined)
11 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.- Smithsonian Zoo: On your own
4:00 p.m. – Return to drop-off location
4:15 p.m. - Depart for home
Stop en route home for a rest stop/fast food meal (on your own)
8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – Return home to USAHEC parking lot
Cost
$48/person
All ages 2 and under free, must be on your lap. If a seat is required, a ticket must be purchased.
Includes:
- Roundtrip transportation
Not Included: driver tip, meals & drinks, and souvenirs
