Spring Pottery Class

Barracks Crossing Arts & Crafts Center

Note: This event has already passed.

Join us for a one time pottery class featuring a hands on experience with the potter’s wheel.  No experience is needed as our experienced instructor will guide you step by step throughout the process.

The session begins with an in-depth  and informative presentation where our instructor demonstrates and explains the steps of the wheel throwing process. Utilizing the potter's wheel to transform a lump of clay into an enduring work of functional art.  Following the demonstration it is your turn to get your hands dirty and experience the magic of the wheel, creating a usable bowl. Upon creating a bowl, it is up to you and your creativity to explore other forms such as tumblers and plates.

At the conclusion of the session you will select colors from our array of lustrous glazes to finish your piece. Leave all the annoying work to us, we will dry, trim, fire, and glaze your pieces. Come back in three to four weeks to collect your durable and functional creations.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore the world of ceramics, experiencing the magic of  the potter’s wheel and bringing home a finished piece.
