2024 Cycling Challenge
The Cycling Challenge is to provide a meaningful, safe, and enjoyable cycling program for all eligible ID cards holders to promote physical fitness through the sport of cycling.
Participants will register at the Outdoor Recreation (ODR) office. The registration fee is $50/person. Participants will engage in outdoor cycling rides completing 1000 kilometers (621.4 miles) to earn a commemorative jersey. The ODR Directors will receive the monthly submitted kilometers from participants. Once the participants have completed the 1000 kilometers (621.4 miles) Cycling Challenge the ODR Directors will provide the commemorative jersey.
Overview:
The cycling challenge will start on 1 May 2024 and will finish 31 August 2024.
All participants may ride either individually or in a group, regardless of their age or gender. Participants must complete their kilometers individually.
All distance trackers will be reported monthly with the final report submitted to the local ODR office NLT 3 September 2024.
Participating Outdoor Recreation office will register participants and manage participants’ records.
Of utmost importance the ODR staff encourages participants to pay attention to safety and proper functioning of their bicycles.
Although this challenge is targeted for adults, youth can also participate and will receive an adult sized jersey if/when they finish 1000 kms.
Once participants complete the Cycling Challenge, we encourage you to start or continue conducting group rides to motivate new riders, promote comradery, and promote physical fitness through the sport of cycling.
ODR office is here to provide rental bicycle equipment and help support outdoor recreation activities for the enjoyment of community.

Registration fee: $50/participant

Registration opens 1 May 2024. Register by calling 717-245-4048 or stop by the Outdoor Recreation office.
Participants who complete 1000 kilometers (621.4 miles) will earn a commemorative jersey.
Winner who complete the cycling challenge will return to Outdoor Recreation after 1 September 2024 to receive your jersey.
Open to all authorize MWR patrons.
